| On the long run, wayland will replace X on the linux-desktop. To help users make the transition from X to wayland, client applications must be ported to toolkits that support wayland. FLTK needs to be ported to wayland so that:
- existing FLTK applications can stay on FLTK
- new applications targeting wayland can use FLTK
- FLTK won't die because eventually X will disappear | |
