Hah! I'd caution that just because the vocabulary seems similar, that does not mean it's the same language!   :-)
FWIW, I don’t think there's a "best" name for this, so we'd have to describe the behaviour in the docs anyway!

I quite fancy:

	fl_override_scale()  paired with  fl_restore_scale()

Just to add extra confusion to the discussion.


    Throwing my hat in the ring:

        fl_unscale() / fl_rescale()

    ..or if there's a stack:

        fl_push_scale() / fl_pop_scale()
