| Some gui toolkits have an option to show a grayed tooltip on inputs to enhance usability, FLTK already has tooltips why not show then grayed on Fl_Input when there is no value ? | |

| Hmm, I dunno - I never liked that style, though I agree it is increasingly common.
It always causes me to pause whilst I grok whether I have to select that text to over-write it, or it will just magically go away by itself if I click into the cell...
In any case, it would not be that hard to implement as a derived widget if you want to try out that style in your own app, I think. | |
