I understand and am very happy with the current solution. Thanks for adding those target_include_directories calls for me.
I'm not sure this applies to fltk, but just so you're aware, the only thing that might cause problems is packaging up the FLTKConfig.cmake with the fltk library and installing it on a different machine, i.e. building a package on Debian and installing on Fedora. This would have the wrong hard-coded paths to libraries due to the differences between the standard library directories, i.e. /usr/lib64 and /usr/lib/<arch>-linux-gnu .
