Sorry, if this happened to you. What changes did you make, I might try to
check it here (post a diff, please).

Please have a look at my attached file autoconf_U32.txt. This is not the
full output, though. I cut as much as seemed appropriate to show the
problem, but of course I can also attach the full output and
config.status, if this would help. Right now, I would prefer to wait, if
Matt can find something with what he has done so far ...

It's all the default (i.e. --disable-cygwin). I just tried it with
--enable-cygwin, and that seems to "do the right thing":

#define U16 unsigned short
#define U32 unsigned

But I need native windows exe files, using cygwin (the dll) is not what I
want and can do.

And, BTW, it's _only_ the (annoying) configure problem. After adding U32
by hand, everything works fine.
