Guys,
I'ld like to add my thanks for FLTK. I am now a hobbyist engineer and programmer (also staving off dementia) with a professional background of digital hardware design.
My first application is an amateur radio logging program, and I tried MFC and WxWidgets before I came across FLTK (as a result of the FlDigi application). I found it much more intuitive to implement what I wanted: - record entry including real-time entry - table viewing (and editing) - report generation
Additional functionality involving custom dialogs has been reasonably simple to add.
The only functionality I've had to source elsewhere is for interfacing to other software and hardware using serial ports, html, xml-rpc and UDP interfaces, as well as getting to grips with Window's COM interface.
This group has been very good at helping me with the prroblems I've encountered. I just wish I'd asked earlier about setting default font size for widgets.
My second application took me several goes at starting it as I was simply replicating an Open-Office spreadsheet application, until I anaysed how I was actually using it and understood what the datasets represented.
Thanks again
Phil.
