Sorry, this is more complicated due to circular dependencies. Static linking works though.

I also evaluated linking with -undefined dynamic_lookup (manually: works as you wrote), but I'd like to keep this as a last resort. This would be platform dependent (hard to do for the Makefile build system).

I'm trying to find a better implementation.
