I'm having troubles with GitHub comments on commits. Sometimes I
get notifications about new comments on a particular commit, but
when I follow the link I don't see any comments, although there
is an icon that shows a number of comments.
Is this only me, or is this a general GitHub problem?
Meanwhile I tried several hints (including "full refresh with
ctrl/shift/r" and using a private browser window) but this didn't
help. Logging in as suggested (when I was not logged in) didn't
help either
However, switching from my preferred view mode "unified diff" to
"split diff" immediately displayed the comments. Switching back to
"unified diff" kept the comments visible. This is obviously not a
"user state" issue. I had to do this in all open browser sessions
with different browsers, and this always worked. That's weird.
BTW: Thanks to Ian for your comment. I'll try that as well when I
encounter this issue for the next time.
OK, "Expand all lines", as Ian suggested, works as well.
But it's even weirder:
as written above, switching from unified to split diff
displays comments
switching back to unified diff keeps comments visible
Doing a full refresh (ctrl/shift/r) in "unified diff" view
does no longer display comments.
I's say, this must be a GitHub issue.
Anyway, I'm done with this for now, since I know how to display (and
reply to) comments.
However, any further insights would be appreciated nevertheless...
