Here are my first results (I'll continue testing later).
I tested on Ubuntu 20.04 with Wayland desktop.
(1) The window title fonts are way too large (obviously in
CSD mode). Can we reduce the font size?
We sure can if we use libdecor as bundled in FLTK. By the
way, libdecor had smaller font before and increased it at some
point to be in line with gnome I believe.
But it might be impossible then to use libdecor as a system
package available in recent Linux versions, which is desirable
I believe.
What exactly is the problem? Can we not adjust the font size when
using libdecor on the application level? Is it hard coded into
libdecor?
FWIW, I'm attaching a screenshot from my Ubuntu 20.04 with Wayland
desktop (isn't this "Gnome" based?) with (from top to bottom):
- desktop title bar ("XTerm")
- fluid - X11 (normal "Untitled.fl")
- fluid - Wayland (large "Untitled.fl")
- xterm
The examples show the difference but if you have a smaller window
and a longer title it may be more obvious that the title text may
easily overflow the existing space - at least much earlier than with
the normal size.
Another observation is that the system title bar is much taller
although the title font is smaller. I wouldn't care about the title
bar height though, but the font looks way to large - and ugly IMHO.
