I think there's something already available for macOS but I don't know
how complete / working this code is.

Thanks for pointing that out, I was unaware of it.
It works for me.
I'd encourage whoever implemented this to continue to support other MacOS supported gestures. Hopefully in time it could also grow to include any Windows and Linux gestures. I'm personally not working on this and I'm too busy with other stuff to
start yet another "project". I don't know of any other dev working on
touch and gesture events.
