Thanks Albrecht for taking the time to reproduce in your hands. I was beginning to envisage my M1 had some defect in its security processor.
All that crazy stuff goes into the direction of preventing macOS users from using non-Apple software.
Very sad.
But there's a command to remove that xattr -d -r com.apple.quarantine /path/to/app
I found it there: https://osxdaily.com/2010/09/12/disable-application-downloaded-from-the-internet-message-in-mac-os-x/ and it works.
I'll see if I can add that to the test/ makefile.
