Yes.
That's what a standard macOS is. So yours is probably case insensitive.

I thought they had changed this in a new filesystem, but indeed I can
see that files are still found if I mistype the case.
However, I'm used to use tab completion, and in that case you /need/ to
type the correct case for tab completion to work, for instance:
$ ls /ap<tab>
doesn't work whereas
$ ls /Ap<tab>
worked. This confused me, thanks for the correction.
