Me:

I didn't know enough when I updated the dox to resolve the issues
so please feel free to apply your knowledge to improve the docs at
https://www.fltk.org/doc-1.4/unicode.html and the unicode stuff at
https://www.fltk.org/doc-1.4/todo.html

I'm afraid that I pulled the original unicode section together from the two
different implementations and I didn't really understand all the subtleties
which is why I left so many notes. I intended to go back to correct them
later, but obviously didn't. :-(

I wrote done some of the questions and problems related to "Unicode-aware software" many years ago:
https://roker.spamt.net/unicode/checklist.txt

You make a lot of good points, which reminded me that I had seen
the UTF-8 Manifesto which makes more: http://utf8everywhere.org/

Hard to know how much of an introduction we need to include in the
unicode section, and how much to leave to external links.
