Thanks for your report.

I'm pretty sure that configure uses the bundled PNG library if it doesn't
find any usable PNG library, hence I assume that configure found one but
couldn't successfully link (fluid).

Some questions:

1) On which exact platform (OS, compiler) did you find this?

2) Can you tell us which particular libpng (and version) you have on your
system?

3) Did you install the libpng development (header) files? (pretty sure this
must be YES)

4) Which 'latest' FLTK version did you try (1.3.5 or 1.4.0 (git master))?
