I attach prov.ps showing Greek characters for
Helvetica and Helvetica-Bold fonts showing what is bold.

An important element here is that only roman characters
(+ a few others, see 
https://www.fltk.org/doc-1.3/classFl__PostScript__Graphics__Driver.html#details)
are printed using a vectorial, PostScript font. All others are
printed in bitmap form. Greeks characters are in this vast category.
