| Some GUI layout problems I noticed while using fluid 1.3.x current..

| Xft_linux_cygwin.png:
right hand side pictures show Xft enabled version on cygwin
which has the same issues.
left hand side is Xft enabled on a linux system.

but isn't it a problem in general when
using a GUI Toolkit that has no Layout Manager ? | |

| This is an issue for current 1.3 (and still exists for me),
however it is marked as 1.4-feature.
Can anybody explain why? | |

| I'd say just move the widgets around to accommodate the expansion.
A little extra space around widgets is usually good GUI design anyway.
I'll see if I can load up these widgets on a system with this problem,
and change things around to 'look right' and submit a patch. | |

| I fixed about_panel.fl (only) by enlarging the boxes and the whole window to accommodate the increased text sizes with XFT fonts. This is not intended to be a complete solution, but only to fix the prominent about_panel display issues (svn r 8144). | |

| Fixed in Subversion repository.
This have all been magically fixed by now.
I don't know how or when. | |
