Item with type TOGGLE or RADIO has wrong width.
If it happens that this Item will have the longest text in given submenu, it will be cut by the width of glyph().

Could you supply some small demo source code which shows the problem? I tried adding a very long item to test/menu.cxx but I didn't see any problem.

Please always indicate the platform, compiler and versions you use.
If possible indicate a precise test case demonstrating the problem.

I have also seen this. Test the example file to see the problem with the sub menu.

I don't see strange behavior when running your test.cpp.

Tested on Mac OS X Leopard with fltk2 rev 6063.
