Hmm, does the font that you loaded provide Unicode code points for the
Chinese glyphs?

OK - but one last try... :-)

Can you run the codes on a "regular" PC and see what happens? Does it
work OK there?
If so, we would have to suspect there is something odd with your
platform, I am afraid...


Note that for the utf8 demo, one of the output boxes is supposed to
display some random Chinese glyphs - does that part work for you? It
sounds like it does not work... I suspect the default font loaded is
maybe not present on your target. 

However, with the utf8 demo you should be able to try each listed font
in turn (click on the font name, then press the "Select" button, see if
the glyphs display correctly in the view window...)

Using that, you can try each of the fonts on your system, to see if any
of them correctly support Unicode glyphs.
