Article #1374: Antialiased drawings using Xrender on X11

Created at 10:41 Jun 24, 2014 by estabur

I'm new on this forum so please excuse me if it is not the appropriate place to write!

I use FLTK for the development of the user interface of some of my programs and I noticed that on the MAC OSX plateform, the drawings are antialiased, but they are not on the Linux/X11 and Windows plateforms.

So, after some unfructful researches on the forums and more generally on the net, I have written a small set of patches on FLTK 1.3.2 to use the Xrender extension of X11 on Linux systems to enable antialiased drawings.

If this could be of any interest to anyone, I will be pleased to share these patches.

All the best, Patrick.

You could attach the patch (or an updated version :-) to a bug or feature request report so that it doesn't get forgotten. See http://www.fltk.org/str.php

Yes, it's needed for all us (users, devs), and me of course =).
